Lynn Preston Smith's Obituary
Lynn Preston Smith was born July 25, 1945 at the base hospital Maxwell Field, Alabama to Edwin Frank and Carolyn Carroll Preston.
She is survived by her husband, Fred C. Smith and son, Preston S. Smith. She was preceded in death by her son, Edwin Judson Smith and sister, Janet P. Claiborne. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Noonan of Destin, Florida, step siblings, Rob Stone and Rev. Anne Carriere, and Dave “PEB” (deceased) Stone.
Lynn attended White Station School and graduated from Central High School. She was an alumni of the University of Mississippi where she was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi and the Ole Miss choir.
She was a lifetime member of Second Presbyterian Church and delighted in teaching five year old Sunday School. She was a former member of the Maternal Welfare League. She was a sustaining member of Les Passes, Inc.
She loved animals and her idea of a great weekend was a Saturday afternoon at the zoo. She adored flowers and plants and possessed the greenest thumb in the family.
She was cremated and a memorial service will be held at The Lord’s Chapel and Elmwood Cemetery on April 20, 2023 at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to Les Passes, Inc.
