Lyman Parker's Obituary
Lyman Parker, 69, of Memphis went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 27th at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Memphis, TN on September 7, 1942. He was preceded in death by his mother Augusta Blanche Parker, his father Thomas Ray Parker and his brother Sidney Ray Parker. Lyman graduated from Messick High School in 1962 and served in the Army National Guard. He worked for Memphis Furniture Mfg. Co. for over 22 years and Goldsmiths as a furniture repair technician before starting his own business. He was a faithful member of Audubon Park Baptist Church for over 55 years serving as an usher and a deacon. His genuine love for the Lord and people around him was always present. He loved bowling and was a member of the Southern Baptist Bowling Association for over 45 years. He was a loving husband to Patricia Wells Parker for 46 years, father to Patricia Diane Roberts (Richard), William Lyman Parker (Tammy) and Lisa Carol Ealy (Jeff). He was a loving grandfather to Dianna Parker, Christopher Parker, Thomas Charlton, Codie Charlton, Courtney Parker, Nicholas Parker, Brady Ealy and Brock Ealy. He is also survived by his brother Jon Usry of California, and a host of cousins and faithful friends. He will be greatly missed by all of those who loved him and knew him. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Audubon Park Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Friday, December 30th from 11:00-1:00, with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m., both at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
