Lunsford Brantley's Obituary
Lunsford Culver “Buddy” Brantley, Jr., born in Springfield, TN and died on February 17, 2015. Buddy was an U.S. Army veteran who served in Korea. He graduated from Union University in Jackson, TN on August 18, 1950 and married Julia Swink later that same day. He retired from International Harvester Credit Corporation after 25 years. He leaves his wife of 65 years, Julia Brantley of Memphis; his son, Lunsford Culver Brantley III and daughter-in-law, Rosalind Brantley of Paris, TN; his daughter, Beth McHugh and son-in-law, Patrick McHugh of Germantown, TN; and his sister, Elizabeth Nichols of Springfield, TN. He leaves four grandchildren, Kelly McHugh, Kevin McHugh, Julie Estes, and Cara McHugh; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday, February 21 with visitation at 10:30 a.m. and funeral services at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the American Heart Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall.”
