Lucille Smith's Obituary
Lucille Jaubert Smith, age 101, passed away May 6, 2019. She was born September 10, 1917 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Fortune Louis Jaubert and Fannie Gayle Jaubert. She was the youngest of ten children and was the oldest living alumni of Sacred Heart Convent High School, New Orleans. She is survived by her children, Lynn Murff (Tolly), Bernie Smith (Peggy), and Grahame Smith (Lisa); 12 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie Smith, Jr. She was a lifelong Catholic, having been a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Clarksdale, Mississippi and St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Memphis, Tennessee. The family will receive friends at a catered reception on Friday, May 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and funeral services celebrating her life immediately follow at 1:00 p.m., all at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
