Luanne Davis Harris' Obituary
Luanne Davis Harris, 88 died peacefully November 2, 2013 after a long illness of Alzheimer’s. Luanne was the only daughter of the late Harold W. Davis and Frances Embry Davis of Morganton, North Carolina. Luanne graduated from Salem College, was a school teacher but was best known for her love of ballroom dance and in teaching this to many students in the Mid-South. She was a member of King’s Daughters, Daughters of American Revolution, 19th Century Club, Contemporary Club of Collierville and a member of the Collierville United Methodist Church. She was married to the late Mark A. Harris a founder of Alpha Corporation, Collierville, TN. She is survived by her son, Mark E. Harris and his wife, Jane F. Harris and their children, Katherine Slater, Elizabeth Harris, Forbes Harris, and two great-granddaughters, Morgan and Brooke Luanne Slater and her daughter, Frances R. Harris and her children, Sean O’Neill and Charles Tate. Visitation will be Thursday November 7 at 3 p.m., with memorial service to follow at 4 p.m. at the Church of the Holy Apostles, 1380 Wolf River Blvd. Collierville, TN. The family will have a private burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Memphis.
