Loyd Ellard Adams' Obituary
Loyd Ellard Adams passed away on Saturday July 30, 2011 at Signature Healthcare Nursing Home at St. Francis, Memphis, Tennessee. Mr. Adams was born on December 17, 1926, to John Homer and Leta Pallie Ellard Adams in Corsicana, Texas. He graduated from Blooming Grove High School in Blooming Grove, Texas. He retired from the Federal Aviation Agency as an Air Traffic Controller Supervisor from the Memphis Center, He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and in the Air Force during Korean War. He was a charter member of Kensington Baptist Church, Memphis, Tennessee where he served as trustee and Sunday School Teacher for many years. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Theodus Bobbie Callaway Adams, two sons, R. Brent Adams and wife Jackie, and Gregory Loyd Adams and wife Robin, five grandchildren, Alayna Nicole Adams Brown and husband Clayton, Andrea Marie Adams, Ann Kathryn Adams, Andrew Loyd Adams and Austin Callaway Adams, two brothers, Gene Adams and wife Bea of Seagoville, Texas and Gayle Adams. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 pm Monday August 1, 2011 at Memorial Park Funeral Home-Memphis. Funeral services will be private for the family only. The family requests any memorials please be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
