Lovica Hitt Lewers' Obituary
Lovica Hitt Lewers, 88, passed away July 25, 2014. She was born March 9, 1926, in Vardaman, MS to Ollie Blanch Herring and Rich Goar Hitt. She was a member of Kirby Woods Baptist Church and was a Godly woman, who wanted to serve her Lord in all ways. She was a member of the first enrolled class at State Technical Institute of Memphis. She was the Treasurer for the Mid-South Coliseum for over 20 years. She was devoted to her family and loved her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Stephen Lewers (Deborah), Elaine Lewers, and Gene Lewers (Jo Anne); eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister Nell Williams; and brother Robert Hitt. She is also survived by her loving friend Wilma Wild and her devoted niece Pam Beasley. She was preceded by her husband of 31 years, Hewlett W. Lewers. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, July 28, and funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
