Louise Bell Davis' Obituary
Louise Bell Davis, 80, a beloved wife and loving mother, died peacefully, on May 14th, 2024 at her home in Mount Juliet, TN. An interment service will be held on Monday May 20th 12:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery in Memphis, TN with a reception to follow. Louise, the youngest of five children, was born in Welsh, LA on September 5th, 1943 to Louis and Ruth Proctor. After the family moved to Kosciusko, MS she graduated from Kosciusko High School and attended Delta State University. Louise went on to have a career in personnel placement, at one time owning her own company. She was an avid Bridge player, competing in tournaments all over the country and earning the rank of Sapphire Life Master. Louise loved to travel and visited destinations all over the world including: Israel, China, Egypt, Iceland, and much of Europe. Many of her traveling companions were close friends from her longtime membership at Lightman Bridge Center in Memphis. Louise was active in church and had a firm faith in Christ. At the time of her passing, she was a member of Providence Church in Mount Juliet.
Louise’s principal passion in life was always her family. She married Edward Perry Davis in July 1979 on Friday the 13th, which Ed always said was the luckiest day of his life. She is survived by her husband, children Jerry Van Bell Jr. (Stephanie), Richmond, IN and Louis Edward Davis (Julie), Mount Juliet, TN and grandchildren Emma Louise Bell, Lauren Van Bell, Ava Elizabeth Perry, Addie Hope Perry, Luke Edward Davis, and Fisher Allen Davis along with numerous cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as siblings Hubert Proctor, Thomas Proctor, Billy Proctor, and Jean Robinson.
Louise will be remembered as having a feisty determination, handling life's ups and downs with grace and courage. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A Rotunda service will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 12:00pm at Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will have a reception to follow after the service in the Parkside Event Center at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
