Louise Crull's Obituary
Katherine Louise Brooks Crull passed away at age 96 on February 14, 2013 in Ormond Beach, Florida.Louise was a native of Memphis , and was the daughter of Katherine Olivia Turley and Benjamin Brooks. She attended Southside High School and lived in Cleveland, Mississippi with her first husband, Norval Cross, until his death in 1955. After returning to Memphis to raise her daughter, Nancy, she worked as a cafeteria manager at the Shrine/Lawler School for the City of Memphis Board of Education. In addition to nurturing her daughter and children in the school where she worked, over the years she helped to raise several nieces and nephews and was dedicated to her three step-children.She was a devoted member of the Christian Church all of her life. At Merton Avenue Christian Church she was a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. Later at Lindenwood Christian Church she continued her activity in the Christian Women’s Fellowship and, for many years, managed the Food Pantry with her husband, Donald Crull. Together they also delivered Meals on Wheels in Memphis for many years. With her ever optimistic, outgoing, friendly personality Louise was an inspiration to us all.She is survived by her daughter Nancy Cross Sullivan of Ormond Beach, Florida, her step-children Julie Goddard of Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, Elgin Crull(Susan) of Louisville, Kentucky, and Peggy Crull of New York, New York, and her granddaughter Anna Crull of New York, New York. She is also survived by a loving family of nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband Norval, she was preceded in death by her second Husband of 44 years, Donald Benjamin Crull, her brother Benjamin Brooks, her sister Adelaide Holford, and her parents.There will be a service at Memorial Park, 5668 Poplar Ave. on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:00P.M. with a gathering of friends and family following the service from 1:30P.M. to 2:30P.M.
