Louis "Jack" Tickle's Obituary
Louis Norvelle (Jack) Tickle Prominent Millington Business Professional Legendary Tennessee REALTOR® and Home Builder Louis Norvelle Tickle, known as Jack to friends, age 87, died Sunday, November 20, 2011 at home while in Hospice Care of the Methodist Hospital after a valiant fight with cancer. Jack passed peacefully surrounded by his wife, Kathryn, all his children, their spouses and many of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 22 from 5 – 8 p.m. and Wednesday, November 23 from 1:30 p.m. with the Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, and Internment following immediately at the Mausoleum. Loving husband of 66 1/2 years, proud father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was preceded in death by his parents William and Etta Tickle; brothers Everett, Woodrow, Harold Lee, Pinkney, and Bill; and sisters Ruby, Myra, and Jewell and great-granddaughter Jessica Tickle. Survivors include his loving wife, Kathryn Rebich Tickle and sons: Jack Ronald (Ronnie) and wife Vicki Tickle of Germantown; James and wife Debbie Tickle of Millington; David and wife Linda Tickle of Millington; Charles (Kookie) and wife Cindy Tickle of Atoka; and daughter Diane and husband Ken Sullivan of Madison, Mississippi; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family expresses deep appreciation for the caregivers from Methodist Hospice, Joyce Pitts and Minna Alexander-Goolsby. Honorary pallbearers include the members of the Senior Adult Department of the First United Methodist Church of Millington.
