Louis Parotte's Obituary
Louis Dixon Parotte, 98, passed away on November 4, 2010. Born in Morganfield, KY, October 17, 1912 to Ruby and Hardy Clyde Parotte. He was a Lt. Commander in the Navy in WWII, owner of P&B Transfer and Storage Co., one of the original founders of United Van Line’s, lifetime member of The Memphis Yacht Club, past member of the University Club, Memphis Petroleum Club, Summit Club, the Exchange Club, and The United States Coast Guard. He leaves his loving wife of 68 years Guion Armstong Parotte, three children Virginia Williams, Jeanne McGonagill, Louis Parotte Jr., son in law Henry Williams daughter in law Sharon Parotte, grandchildren Guion Benkin, Katherine Burnett, Henry Williams Jr., Virginia Crittendon, Allen McGonagill, Dixon Allen, Trace McGonagill, Sarah Parotte, Jennifer Parotte, Daniel Parotte, and 8 great grandchildren. Boating was an enjoyable hobby and a true pleasure for him and his family. The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30, Sunday, November 7, 2010, with funeral services to follow at 3:30 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the Church Health Center or to the Church of the Holy Communion.
