Louis Longo's Obituary
Louis Longo, 87 of Memphis, Tennessee died peacefully on July 29, 2023.
Louis was born March 12, 1936 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of George and Clara (Kilpatrick) Longo.
He is survived by his son Kenneth Longo (Pam), daughter Ginger Hamm, and son Michael Longo (Celeste) and his beloved grandchildren, Tony Longo (Gwen), Andy Longo, Christi Cook, Eric Cook (Britney), Jennifer Hamm, Rachel Marino (Chris), Bruce Longo (Sarah), Shannon Foushee (Andrew) and Lauren Beau; and ten great grandchildren. Louis is also survived by the mother of his children and confidant, Barbara Longo and his sister Margie Bess.
In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by four brothers George Longo, Pete Longo, Robert Bowers, Don Bowers, son Ralph Longo and grandson Brett Longo.
Louis worked at First Baptist Church Memphis and Hutchison School as Building Superintendent. He took his duty seriously to provide the best possible environment for the church and school. The highest praise was when everything operated smoothly and no one noticed the hard work.
Louis was an active member of Church of the Holy Spirit and loved Sunday early morning Mass. His hobbies included raising and training beagles to hunt or compete, stocking fish ponds and building anything complicated.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at noon with the service starting at 1:00 pm. Graveside services will be held immediately afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit, 2300 Hickory Crest Dr Memphis, TN 38119.
