Louis E. Ingram's Obituary
Louis Edward Ingram passed away January 27, 2015 at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House surrounded by family and friends due to complications of cancer. Louis was born on July 11, 1934 at St. Joseph Hospital to Louis Edward and Gertrude Gosney Ingram. He attended Gordon Elementary School and graduated from Humes High School in 1952. He graduated from University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering degree. Louis retired from W. R. Grace Chemical Company. He was an avid cyclist, a member of the Memphis Sport Shooting Association, a founding member of the Mississippi River Rangers, Single Action Shooting Society, Memphis Camera Club, the Bluff City Canoe Club and the Wolf River Conservancy. He was a member of Decatur Street Christian Church where he was baptized and married his true love, Nancy Dickey Ingram, who preceded him in death on May 22, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, David Richard Ingram. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa McDougald (Lee), Julie Dannheim (Jeff) and his grandson, William Rich, who he and Nancy raised as their son. He also leaves five grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Private graveside services for the family will at Elmwood Cemetery. The family invites all friends and family to attend a Celebration of Life reception for Louis at The Great Hall at 1900 South Germantown Road, Memphis, Tennessee 38138 on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 6pm to 9pm. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to The Wolf River Conservancy in Louis’ memory or to the charity of your choice in his memory.
