Louis Cooper's Obituary
Louis A. Cooper, 78, of Memphis passed away Friday, October 30, 2009 at the Regional VA Hospital. He was a Shelby County Sherriff’s Deputy from 1964 to 1984 and with the Memphis Police Department Reserves from 1984 to 2009. Mr. Cooper was a founding member of the Reserve Division of the Sherriff’s Department. He was the owner of Cooper’s Restaurant and was the first time consecutive two term President of the Memphis Restaurant Association.He is survived by his wife of 58 years, his high school sweetheart Ellen Cooper; two sons, Mike Cooper and his wife Mickie of Franklin, TN and Brett Cooper and his wife Judy of Bartlett, TN; two daughters, Roxanne Goodman and her husband Dennis of Freeport, IL and Sheri Power and her husband Marcus of Hampton, VA; two brothers, Stanley Cooper and Joe Cooper. Mr. Cooper is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, two special nephews Trent and Todd Cooper and his beloved animals Rusty and Bubba. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Lawrence Cooper and a brother Julian.The visitation will be held 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, at Memorial Park Funeral Home with the memorial service beginning at 4:00 p.m.
