Lou was a Memphis Blazers band mate with me during the 1960’s and early 1970’s. He was a talented singer and songwriter who provided the tenor voice to our vocal harmonies. I have many fond memories of our years together. Jim Mitchell

Lou and I were fraternity Brothers at Memphis State. Some years later we met up in Vietnam and spent a rowdy evening in the Air Force NCO club in Danang. The building was air conditioned, the first time I’d been cool in 4 or 5 months. In fact I got so cold we had to move outside. He was one of the best guys I’ve ever known and I’m sorry we fell out of touch. RIP Lou. Fred Smith
I knew Lou at Messick High School in Memphis where he was the star pitcher on the Messick baseball team that went to the State finals in Nashville in 1962 and lost in the championship game. Unfortunately, Lou was injured during the tournament. The Messick Coach has remarked over the years that had Lou not been hurt, Messick would have won the State championship.Lou was, among other things, a good baseball teammate and human being. I have only fond memories of this gentle man.Respectfully,David Kennedy
