Lottie Wren Dabbs' Obituary
Lottie Wren Dabbs, 99, of Mount Pleasant MS, passed away on Sunday, May 12th, 2024 at her home on Mother’s Day. She was a remarkable mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Mrs. Dabbs was born in Saltillo, MS at the home of her grandmother to Walter Albert Wren and Lottie Thompson Wren on October 1, 1924. She taught math at Snowden Elementary and East High School. She was an avid tennis player, bridge player, and friend to many. She was a longtime member of Christ Methodist Church in Memphis TN and later First Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant, MS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lewis Dabbs. Childhood sweethearts, they were married December 21, 194, and raised their three children in Memphis, TN.
Mrs. Dabbs leaves behind her children, Charlotte Dabbs Algood (Terry), Sarah Dabbs Shroyer, William Wren Dabbs, eleven grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent to watermission.org in Charleston, SC or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
The visitation will be held in the parlor from 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Christ Church until the service time at 2:00 p.m. Christ Church Wilson Chapel. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
