Lorie A. Autry's Obituary
Lorie A. Autry, 63, of Germantown, TN passed away on August 13, 2023, with her loving husband by her side.
Lorie was born January 21, 1960, in Covington, TN. She was the youngest daughter of Robert Lee and Dorothy Helen Owen. She attended the University of Memphis and was a graduate of Craigmont High School. She married her best friend Donald Autry on October 27, 1984. Lorie worked for many years in the banking industry ending her career as a Mortgage Underwriting Manager for Orion Federal Credit Union. Her family and many friends have lost a deeply caring mother, a loyal friend, an unwavering supporter and a person who truly cared and listened when people needed her.
She was passionate about her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She truly lived her life to make others happy and could always be found laughing and having fun with the people she cared about most. Her sense of humor, thoughtfulness, caring personality and infectious smile were just a few of the many things that the people who care about her will miss. She always pushed people to see the best in themselves and to achieve their full potential. Though her life ended much too soon, she lived everyday as if it were a new opportunity and left this world with nothing to regret. She was unwaveringly kind, accepting of all people and showed love to all whom she met. Lorie was a light in this world that can never be replaced. She was truly one of a kind.
She is survived by her husband Don, son, Dr. Robert J. Autry and his wife Lindsy, son, Christopher Autry, son, Jason Autry, mother, Dorothy Helen Owen, sister, Judy Kennedy and her husband Ron Kennedy, brother, Robert L. Owen, Jr., grandchildren, Joseph “Fletcher” Autry, Sloane Autry, Kalli Eubank, Hunter Autry, Lauryn Autry, Brandon Autry, Mary-Kenzie Autry and numerous other beloved family and close friends.
She is preceded in death by her father Robert L. Owen, Sr.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, August 26 at 9:00 a.m. with a service to celebrate Lorie’s life at 10:00 a.m. all in the Riverside Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN, 38119. The burial will follow at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Rd, Memphis, TN, 38134.
The family asks that memorials be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
