Lorene Nance's Obituary
Mary Lorene Nance, 98, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, formerly of Memphis, passed away on November 19, 2014 in the care of Hospice By The Sea. Lorene was born November 15, 1916 in Fulton, Kentucky the daughter of Kelly and Jewell (Pewitt) Browder. She graduated from Central High School and from college in Texas. She was married to Doyle C. Nance on February 2, 1945 who passed away April 14, 2001 and was a loving wife, homemaker, Mother and Grandmother. She was a gracious example of kindness, generosity, giving and a loving compassionate person. Her friends were always close at heart with fond memories. Lorene was a faithful member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was a former member of St. Paul Methodist Church and served on multiple committees, a member of Woodland Garden Club and others. Lorene was an avid home gardener where she found peace and serenity working among her plants in her yard and enjoying nature. Lorene is survived by her Daughter Judy Carol Carter who resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Grandsons Scott M. Carter living in Texas and Bryan P. Carter and his wife Muffy Ward Carter also from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Services to celebrate Lorene’s life will be held on Monday, November 24th at 2:30 pm, the visitation will be Sunday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, both at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
