Lois Carter's Obituary
Lois Bonita McDonald Carter, died of natural causes on August 6, 2012 in San Jose California after living most of her life in Memphis. She was born on June 17, 1921, the daughter of Oscar and Essie Mae McDonald. She retired from Kimberly Clark Corporation. She was married to Paul Carter on September 24, 1938 and both were very active at First Assembly of God Church in Memphis. Paul died in 2001. Lois was very devoted to faith and family. She enjoyed traveling and entertaining friends. She moved to San Jose California in 2004 to be near family. She is survived by her son, former Memphis bass-baritone, Ken Carter and his wife, Sherry. She also leaves her grandchildren David and his wife Christina of San Jose, Joshua of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and 5 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Claiborne and is survived by her sister, Margie Reaves and their families. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 11, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The interment will follow in Memorial Park Southwoods.
