Lloyd Emmitt Jordan's Obituary
A Loving Husband, Dad, Brother, Uncle, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, and Friend, Mr. Lloyd Emmitt Jordan, 85 passed away Dec. 7, 2019, in Memphis, TN. He has joined Camille, his one true love, his soul-mate, and loving wife for 60 years. Lloyd was born on January 14,1934 in Columbus, OH. He was one of 3 children born to the late Vernon and Pauline Jordan. He survives his sweet and favorite sister, Laura Jordan Schneider. Family, religion, and education were very important to Lloyd. He loved his family which was one of the biggest reasons why he worked so hard so his wife could stay home so that she could raise their five children, and provide each a Catholic education. The family were members of Holy Rosary and St Louis Catholic Churches. All five children attended Catholic Schools. Lloyd and Camille attended St Louis Church for many years and he continue after her passing until his health no longer allowed him to attend. Lloyd is survived by 5 children, Paula, Ginny, Albert, Paul, and Robert; 10 grandchildren, Gary, Allison, Robyn, Nick, Matthew, Andrew, Lauren, Audra, Lily, and Isabel; and 1 great-granddaughter Gracie. Lloyd’s passion was playing Softball as a Fast Pitch Pitcher in Columbus, Ohio and Memphis, Tennessee. He always had a joke that would make people laugh. Lloyd was well-known by giving joy and a hug with his ‘Hugging License’ which he graciously distributed for over 30 years. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 14, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral home. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 15 at 11:00 am, preceded by a Rosary at 10:30 am also at Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of sending flowers, Lloyd had requested that donations be made to The American Cancer Society (cancer.org), or The American Heart Association (heart.org) in his memory.Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119, 901-767-8930. “A Fitting Farewell for Everyone”.
