Lisa Pelton Wofford's Obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and friend, Lisa Pelton Wofford, who entered into eternal rest on June 6, 2023.
Lisa is survived by her devoted husband, Robert; her four beloved children, Wilder, Peter, Lexi, and Ryan; and her cherished grandchildren, Sutton, Cela, and Isabelle. She leaves behind a family who adored her and countless friends whose lives were touched by her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith.
From an early age, Lisa demonstrated extraordinary intelligence and determination. She completed high school at just sixteen years old before continuing directly to college and then medical school, where she graduated with honors. Her academic achievements were remarkable, but those who knew her best understood that her greatest gifts were her compassion, her servant’s heart, and her deep love for Jesus Christ.
Lisa welcomed everyone she met with open arms. She taught her children the importance of loving unconditionally, forgiving relentlessly, and trusting in the Lord through every season of life. She often said that being a mother to her four children was the greatest honor of her life, and she poured her heart into that role every day.
Lisa found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She never missed an episode of Law & Order, adored her cat, Boo-Boo, and could always be counted on to enjoy a good pizza. In her honor, Thursdays will forever be remembered as “Lisa Pizza Day” by those who loved her most.
Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort in knowing that her faith has become sight and that she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord she loved so dearly.
Lisa’s legacy lives on through her family, her faith, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness, wisdom, and love.
Rest in peace, our angel.
Mrs. Wofford was laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis TN.
