Lisa Diane Thompson Upton's Obituary
Lisa Diane Thompson Upton was born April 7, 1964, to Buren and Jewel Thompson and passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021. Lisa was known for her kind heart, love of Jesus, strong faith, listening ear and service to others.
She taught at Elliston Baptist Academy for many years. Lisa took care of so many in so many ways throughout her life, from taking in children whose parents were down on their luck to feeding students of little means, out of her own pocket. She had four sons but was a mother figure to many and always ready to bring another child under her wing. She took responsibility for the suffering of many people and made many lives better as a result.
Lisa was a firm believer in the power of prayer and the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and shared her faith with anyone who would listen.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Jewel Thompson, her father, Buren Thompson, sister, Linda Thompson, and son Patrick Upton Jr.
She leaves behind her husband of 40 years, Patrick Upton, three sons, Aaron Upton, Adam Upton (Brooke), and Alex Upton, two granddaughters, Alivia and Alana Upton and her sister Nancy Rowland.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 9th, at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Park, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. Follow the signs for Fireside Chapel.
