Lisa Joy Remeur's Obituary
LISA JOY REMEUR of Collierville, Tennessee, was born Easter Morning April 6, 1969 and passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015, at the age of 46. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the oldest daughter of James and Ruth Remeur. She is survived by her parents and her siblings and their families: John and Sara Remeur Holland, Kevin and Renee Remeur Webb and their children Clayton, Merritt, Max, and MacArthur, and Brandt and Julie Remeur Maddox and their children Mallory and Macy. She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Jule and Jean Remeur, Arthur and Sylvia Frens, and her niece: Eden Sylvia Webb.Lisa “Joy” was a kind, loving person who spread sunshine wherever she went. She was the best daughter, sister, aunt and friend anyone could ask for and truly a “joy”. She had attended Second Presbyterian Church since 1977 and was a charter member of the “Special Friends” Sunday School class. She loved Jesus deeply and it showed in her actions and generosity as she always put others first.She graduated from Madonna Learning Center and Avon Lennox School and later attended Bellevue’s Shepherd Haven. Lisa Joy worked at Mid-South Christian Nursing Home and at Bibles for China.Lisa Joy was a gold medalist swimmer for Special Olympics. Her favorite past times were coloring pictures to give to others and making latch hook rugs, as well as picking out the perfect greeting card for every occasion. Joy had a happy heart, an infectious laugh, and a giving spirit that will eternally inspire her entire family and everyone who knew her.Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 29 at Second Presbyterian Church in the connector (hallway) off the sanctuary. The Service will be at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary. The service will be live streamed at 2PC.org. A private family burial will be in Southwoods Cemetery, Memphis, TN. Memorials may be sent to Sequoia Unlimited, 10515 Grand Ave. # 303, Melrose Park, IL 60164-1585 in Joy’s honor.
