Lisa S. Johns' Obituary
Lisa Stanley Johns, 52, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, after a ten-year struggle with cancer. Lisa was a cherished companion and a shining light of hope to those who knew her, and she will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Lisa was born on November 10, 1973, in Fairbanks, Alaska. She is the daughter of MunCha Kim Stanley and Edward Rowell Stanley.
Growing up in Horn Lake, Lisa inspired those around her to strive for success and graduated from Horn Lake High School as valedictorian. She went on from high school to study at the University of Memphis. She continued her education at Ole Miss, where she received her JD.
As an attorney for many years, her life’s work was dedicated to helping others and seeking truth and justice. She worked as a personal injury attorney for NST Law for 25 years, where she helped countless clients navigate through hardships. Outside of work, Lisa loved spending as much time as possible with her family. She especially enjoyed seeing the beautiful nature around Memphis, and she often frequented Dixon Gallery and Gardens with friends and family.
Her greatest legacy is the love that she left behind to those who were blessed to have known her. She was a faithful member of Mullins United Methodist Church for over a decade, and she found great comfort in God’s word and fellowship with her church family.
Lisa is preceded in death by her father, Edward Stanley.
She is survived by her mother, MunCha Kim Stanely; her husband, Roger “Sonny” Johns and their daughter, Evie Johns. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Stanley III; her sister-in-law, Kara Millett; and her niece, Lucy Millett Stanley.
