Linda Kay Tennison's Obituary
Linda Kay Tennison, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2023, Linda, known as Nemer to her family and friends, was born in Des Moines, IA in 1943.
Linda met her husband of 62 years, Gaines Tennison, in Salina, KS. They were married in 1961 and moved to Memphis to begin their lives together. They had two sons, Andy and Jed, who always kept them busy throughout their childhood. She and Gaines enjoyed traveling together, attending basketball games and activities with Andy and Jed at Skyview Academy, and spending time with friends and family. In recent years, she and Gaines enjoyed going to dinner in downtown Memphis, watching the river from their balcony, trips to Kansas to visit family, trips to Las Vegas, and weekends at their cabin in Mississippi.
She had a big personality and never knew a stranger. She would put one hand on each of your cheeks and give you a kiss and hug every chance she got. She will be remembered by many as a classy lady and second mother. She will be remembered by her husband, children, and grandchildren as a beautiful lady, inside and out, with an adventurous spirit and caring heart.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her sons, Andy Tennison and his wife Kathy; Jed Tennison and his wife Adrienne; eight grandchildren: Daniel, Drew, Dalton and Dusty (Andy); JT, Caleb, Kinzie and Riley (Jed); and five great grandchildren: Magnus, Ulrik & Hilda (Daniel), Rayann (Kinzie) and Jedediah (JT).
