Linda Kathleen Pejaver's Obituary
LINDA KATHLEEN PEJAVER, 67, died on September 10, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital with her daughter, Meera, by her side. Linda was born in Memphis on January 31, 1944 and was preceded in death by her son, Naveen “Scott” Pejaver, sister, Carmen Barker, mother, Mary Kathleen DeLuca, and father, Dr. Vincent DeLuca. She leaves her daughter, Meera Pejaver; sister, Donna Dahler; brother, Joseph DeLuca; and several nieces and nephews. Linda received her Bachelor’s of Science in Archaeology from Memphis State University and continued her education at the University of Texas, Austin. She worked as a surgical technician and Wright Medical Quality Assurance Inspector, but her true love was archaeology as can be seen with her dedicated work at Chucalissa. Linda was a wonderful mother and friend who welcomed all creatures great and small with open arms and a sweet smile. She had a great love for animals, especially her beloved dogs; and hobbies included fossil hunting, coin collecting, gardening, and reading. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 14 from 5-8 p.m., and funeral services will be held Thursday, September 15 at 10 a.m., both at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Memphis Humane Society.
