Linda L. Dodge's Obituary
Linda Lee Dodge of Eads, Tennessee passed away on August 19, 2017. She was born October 8, 1937 to Alton Ferdinand Moses and Martha Leona (Bearss) Moses. She was raised in Deckerville, Michigan and graduated from Deckerville High School in 1955. She attended college at Michigan State where she met her husband Gordon Dodge. They were married September 10, 1960 and moved to Downey California where they both worked at North American Aviation on the Apollo project for two years. Gordon then accepted an engineering position with Eastman Kodak in Kingsport TN. After 6 years he opted for a sales position that allowed them to live in Chicago, St Louis, and Memphis for the next 24 years. During this time Linda was an accomplished house wife and mother. She was also very active in volunteer work and spent 17 years working with the elderly in a Memphis nursing home. She was awarded several, volunteer of the year awards, and brought peace and happiness to those around her. She and Gordon owned a motorhome and traveled extensively throughout North America. They visited 49 of the 50 states together (missing only Hawaii, no road!). She held fond memories of the time spent with her family in traveling, camping, and visiting places like Yellowstone National Park and many other vacation locations. Linda was an active member of the Memphis Corvette Club and several women’s groups in the area. She was very dedicated to her husband and family. She was loved by many, liked by all and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.She is survived by her husband Gordon L. Dodge, her two children Scott B. Dodge and Robin M. (Dodge) McDonald, three grandchildren Matthew C. McDonald, David M. McDonald, and Nathan D. Dodge.Linda will be cremated and interred at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.A memorial celebration will be held from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Friday, September 29th at the International Harvester Clubhouse, 4523 Canada Rd., Lakeland, TN for family and friends of Linda Lee Dodge.The family request donations be made to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital or charity of donors choice.
