Lina Jeanette DeCuir's Obituary
Lina Jeanette Watkins DeCuir, 88 of Memphis, TN died peacefully on June 2, 2022. She was born in Memphis to the late James & Mae Watkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband of 50 years, Fred V. DeCuir, Jr.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia & Joe Smith and Dorothy & Wally Hillin.
She is survived by her four children Orean “Chip” DeCuir (Renee), Keith DeCuir (Colleen), Denise Harris (Chris) and Susan Hyde (Greg), 8 grandchildren plus 7 bonus grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters Shirley Sedgwick (Kenneth) and Louise Lovell (Carey) and many nephews and nieces.
She was a devout Christian and a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. She loved assisting with the bulletins on Fridays until she was no longer able to do so. She was an excellent seamstress winning numerous blue-ribbon awards for the clothes she made. Her passion for needlework and crafts meant there were on-going projects that would keep her in her crafts room for hours. She was retired from Holy Cross Church & School as the church/school secretary.
Services will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5296 Park Avenue, Memphis, TN on Wednesday June 8th. Visitation to begin at 11:00 am, funeral service at 12:00 and graveside service following at Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church.
