Lilma Sides Leatherwood's Obituary
Lilma Sides Leatherwood, originally of Elwood, Indiana, died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at her Germantown home. Mrs. Leatherwood was an Episcopalian. She was a Governor appointed member of the Board of Directors for MMHI, and served on the Board of Northeast Community Mental Health Center from 1987-1992. During the late 1960’s she co-founded TRENDS, a marketing research company. She was the first full term President of the Shelby County Republican Women. Mrs. Leatherwood is survived by her husband of 62 years, Thomas F. Leatherwood, Jr.; her 3 children, Cherry Swann, Laurie Howard, and Tom F. Leatherwood, III all of Memphis; her 7 grandchildren, Billy Bryan, Amie Pittman, Celia Leatherwood, Hannah Leatherwood, Amanda Leatherwood, Marykate Leatherwood, and Anne Howard; and 4 great- grandchildren, Connor Bryan, Kelsey Bryan, Kaitlyn Bryan, and Eli Pittman. A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. The family requests that memorials be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
