Lillie Beatrice Williams' Obituary
Lillie Beatrice Williams, 95, of Memphis, Tennessee went to be with the Lord peacefully December 5, 2013. She was born in Tyronza, Arkansas January 12, 1918, the daughter of William and Josephine Sims. Lillie was a charter member of Christ Methodist Church in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters and brother, her husband, Raymond C. Williams, and her eldest son, Joe Lawson Williams. She leaves sons, Jerry Lynn, James Raymond (Myrt), Billy Keith (Anita) and daughter Anita Sue Lane (Barney), 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Lillie was affectionately known by family and friends as “Tootle”. She was a former officer and lifetime member in the Woodlawn Chapter 74 of the Order of the Eastern Star. With her husband of 57 years, they were partners in numerous Holiday Inn franchises around the country, as well as two farms and other businesses. She played an intricate role in the design and decoration of the first Holiday Inn and many to follow. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. There will be a funeral service at 2:30 pm Tuesday December 10, 2013 at Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN with entombment in the mausoleum.
