Robert E. "Bob" Sweeney
Lillian was one of a kind. She brought me into the world of duplicate bridge as a young player and was my partner when I became Life Master. She was the first to stand up for the unfortunate and to speak out for justice. In he late 1960s, she was among the first three members of the local bridge club to vote for admitting African-Americans to the previously all white club. Lillian had an eclectic set of interests and a tolerance and affection for all kinds from all walks of life. She cannot be replaced, but she will be remembered by all who knew her.
