Lila Wright Boswell's Obituary
Lila Wright Boswell 71, of Germanton, TN formerly of Batesville, MS, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on July 21, 2018 after a yearlong battle with Stage IV Renal Cell Carcinoma. She was a women of strength and love.Lila was born on June 7, 1947 in Batesville, MS to Walter O. Wright and Jeanette (Tidwell) Wright Berry. She graduated from South Panola High School in Batesville, MS in 1965. She moved to Memphis after high school and attended business school while living in the Lowenstein Club. She worked at Memphis Oxygen for a time, spent many fine years as a secretary at United Road Machinery Co. on Elvis Presley Blvd and then began her career in real estate with Century 21 in 1980. This endeavor spanned over 25 years before she retired her license as an agent with Crye-Leike. She was a member of Highpoint Church, Memphis, TN. Lila could do anything she set her mind to but her greatest accomplishment in life was her “girls” – Nita Ann, Savannah Claire and Morgan Elizabeth.Lila was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Jimmy Wayne Wright; her husband, Robert Myers Boswell; and her faithful loving dogs, Bailey and Beauregard. She is survived by her loving daughter, Nita Ann Flanagin Sory (Tyler) of Germantown, TN; granddaughters, Savannah Claire Davidson and Morgan Elizabeth Sory of Germantown, TN; step grandchildren, Garrett, Grace, and Grant Sory; her first husband, life long friend and confidant, Fred Flanagin,of Batesville, MS; her brother Anthony E. Wright, Germantown, TN; her sister, Debbie W. West of Batesville, MS; two nephews and one niece; and many great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nieces and great- great nephews. She leaves many other relatives and friends that also brought great joy and love to her life. Lila loved to cook and work in her yard. Her amazing Southern cooking will be missed by so many but most importantly she will be missed for her heart and love for all.The family will receive friends from 5-7pm., Tuesday, July 24 and services honoring her life will be held at 11:30am, Wednesday, July 25 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. A celebration of life will take place immediately following the service at 8152 Scruggs Drive, Germantown, TN 38138.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in honor of Lila to Memphis Union Mission, LeBonheur Children’s Hospital, or March of Dimes.Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
