Lida Woodward's Obituary
Lida Mae Woodward, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Funeral Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 17 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Ms. Woodward was born on July 4, 1929 in Aiken, SC, to the Late Eva and Dan Willis. She was formerly married to the late William J. Woodward of Aiken, SC. A graduate of Aiken High School in 1948 and was the captain of her basketball team. Lida also attained the honor of “Miss Aiken” in 1947. After years in Aiken she moved to Memphis, TN in the early 70’s and enjoyed her life in the music and hospitality industry at T.J.’s Lounge, later at Wellington’s before retiring from O’Malley’s. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Fann (Chuck) of Memphis; a son, Kevin L. Woodward of Columbia SC; a granddaughter Lauren Rickman of Memphis; and her loving life partner James Crone and countless friends. She was preceded in death by three sisters Annie L. Carter, Lois Lott, and Minnie R. Vincent, all of Aiken, SC. The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Ratliff for his care given to our mother. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Methodist Hospice Residence.
