Lexie Luka Myers' Obituary
Lexie Lee Luka, 90, born Blue Mountain, Mississippi, Nov. 21, 1921. Widow of William James Luka Jr., daughter of Joel Tatum Lee, and Carrie Kent Lee. Lexie passed away on April 26, 2012, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s for several years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and St. Paul’s Catholic Church, in Memphis, Tennessee, where she was a member and president of the Alter Society for several years. Lexie was Rosie the riveter at Fischer Aircraft. She worked at Sears Crosstown for 13 years in the credit department. She also worked at Thalhiemers in the Mall of Memphis for several years. Lexie was an avid bowler, and loved to play poker. Lexie lived a long and wonderful life. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, April 29 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The Rosary will begin at 5:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 30 at St. Louis Catholic Church. Lexie will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery, Poplar Ave. Memphis, Tennessee. Lexie is survived by two sons Barry Lee Luka, and Kenneth Neal Luka, a grandson Barry Lee Luka, Jr. (Chip Willis), and a great-granddaughter, Alexandra Willis; and a sister in law Connie Lee and several nieces and nephews.
