Leon Marshall's Obituary
Leon Ray Marshall, Sr., 83, of Memphis was born on July 18, 1926 to James Glen and Lora P. Marshall. He passed away on January 23, 2010 at Kirby Pines Manor. Leon and wife, Darthy J. Marshall had celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. They have one daughter, Amy M. Rutland (John T.) and three grandchildren, Heather, Lauren and John T. Rutland, III. Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by a son, Leon Ray Marshall, Jr., and a sister Mary M. McCullough. He was a member of Raleigh United Methodist Church. Mr. Marshall was parts manager at Chip Barwick Chevrolet Co. for 28 years and then owner of Bartlett Auto Parts Store for 15 years before retirement. Mr. Marshall is survived by his wife, Darthy; one brother, Perry Marshall (Catherine) of Troy, TN; two sisters, Ruth M. Carroll of Obion, TN and Jean M. Breedlove, of Memphis. The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 25 with the visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. all at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Raleigh United Methodist Church, 3295 Powers Rd. Memphis TN 38128 or charity of donor’s choice.
