Dr. Lenora Ann Runge's Obituary
Lenora Ann Runge from Memphis, Tennessee passed on to be with The LORD she loved on January 18, 2023, one day before her 95th birthday.
Lenora was born in Memphis on January 19, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Frank & Aubin Reinhardt. Her sisters Barbara Louise (Reinhardt) Naughton and Martha Jean (Reinhardt) Hill also predeceased her. Although Lenora had no biological children, she was mother to Mr. & Mrs. Roger and Celeste Lawson, their children and grandchildren. She leaves to mourn nephews Peter, Tom and Carl Schuessler, nieces Sandy Sheffield and Sherry Tritt, and other family members. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed by her congregational family at B’rit Hadasha Messianic Jewish Synagogue, Memphis, TN, and many dear friends. Lenora was still driving, making her meals, playing the piano, praying in the Spirit several hours a day, texting with friends and always talking about her love relationship with the Holy Spirit, when The LORD suddenly came for her. Lenora took every concern or challenge to The LORD, always sharing that she practiced in every situation, casting her cares on Him and pleading The Blood. Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble”. Lenora was a devoted believer and worshipper of The LORD and loved to study God’s Word and even wrote a book in her 90’s called, “Hidden Treasures”, still available online at Amazon.com. Lenora loved keeping her mind sharp. She continued to explore, study, and learn all of her life. She also loved playing Solitaire and Rummikub. Lenora was a trailblazer. She graduated from University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1949 with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in a majority all male graduating class. She was the first female pharmacist in Memphis. She played the organ and piano for worship services for decades and loved and taught Davidic worship dance. She loved to sing and had a beautiful soprano voice. She worked many years as the director of a women’s home for Teen Challenge ministry. Lenora lived her 95 years to the fullest. It was indeed a life well-lived! She felt that her funeral would be her wedding day when she would at last be face to face with The Messiah. So, celebrate with her, we will! Lenora's celebratory service will be Sunday, February 12, 2023 at B’rit Hadasha Messianic Synagogue, 6320 N. Quail Hollow Rd., Memphis, Tennessee 38120. Service will begin at 10:30am followed by the graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN, at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her Memory should be made to Our Father’s Business Fund at B’rit Hadasha Messianic Synagogue.
