Lendon Balch's Obituary
LENDON D. BALCH, SR., 84, passed away on May 28, 2012. He was born June 25, 1927 in Lexington, Alabama, youngest child of the late Robert Dee and Maude Lou (Campbell) Balch. He leaves his wife of 61 years, Yvonne (Holland); daughter, Pam Callicott; son-in-law, Jack Miser; son and daughter-in-law, Lendon and Carla Balch; and his beloved granddaughter, Kirby Balch. His brothers and sisters have all passed away: Mazie Balch, Lutie Putman, Villard Balch, Horace Balch, Junos Balch, and Mary Cleo Vann. He retired from International Harvester. A member of Colonial Cumberland Presbyterian Church for over 60 years, he loved his church and served as deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher and in many other capacities throughout his lifetime His family meant everything to him. He and Yvonne loved ‘’junkin’’, gardening, church service, taking day trips and family camping. Boy Scouts was another joy in his life. In later years, he met with ‘’coffee break’’ friends regularly. Lendon leaves many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to our Visiting Angel, Regina Payne, who took such good care of her ‘’Sweet Pea’’. Visitation will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home on May 30, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., with service immediately following at 11:30 a.m. The family would like to give many thanks to the doctors and staff of the Methodist Residence Hospice House, for their loving care and concern.
