Lela Mae Davis' Obituary
LELA MAE IRBY DAVIS, 92, passed away September 11, 2011. She was born October 8, 1918 in Roswell, New Mexico to Lillian Ona Locker and Roland Irvin Irby. She grew up in Myrtle, MS with two brothers and two sisters. Lela Mae came to Memphis as a young lady and graduated from Memphis Tech High School. She worked briefly at Sears Crosstown and was married to John D. Davis for 60 years, who preceded her in death. Lela Mae was a loving and compassionate christian lady serving God and caring for others. She was a member of Quail Ridge Church of Christ. She leaves three children, Gail Ham (James), Johnny Davis (Nancy) and Joyce Spencer. She also leaves six grandchildren and six great-grand-children. The family will receive friends Monday, September 19 from 5-8 p.m., and Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 20 at 1 p.m., all at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar.
