Leigh Ann Williams' Obituary
Leigh Ann Williams, age 61, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly at her home on October 16, 2025.
She is survived by her siblings, Natalie Williams Rauscher and her daughters, Maryn and Hayes; Emily Williams Marshall (Michael) and their sons, Griffin, Wills, and Henry, all of Memphis, Tennessee; and Jason Stuart Williams of Jackson, Tennessee. She is also survived by her biological father, Steve Anderson of Valley, Nebraska; her best friend of more than forty years, Lydia Garrison Laster of Madison, Mississippi; and many other beloved extended family members, friends, and co-workers who were dear to her heart.
Leigh Ann was preceded in death by her mother and adoptive father, Carol and Mike Williams; her aunt and best friend, Michele Barnes; her brother-in-law, John Rauscher (Natalie); and her maternal and paternal grandparents, all of whom welcomed her into the Kingdom of Everlasting Life.
Leigh Ann graduated from Evangelical Christian School in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1982. She went on to earn her undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University, where she was a proud member of Chi Omega sorority, and later completed her master’s degree at University of Memphis (formerly Memphis State University).
Professionally, Leigh Ann worked as a photographer with Olan Mills and Holland Studio for more than thirty-five years. She loved being behind the camera, capturing the perfect shot of students and classrooms across the Mid-South. Her favorite subjects, however, were always her beloved nieces and nephews—her true pride and joy. She loved all five as her own.
In her later years, Leigh Ann found peace and comfort through her faith at Kirby Woods Baptist Church, where she attended services, Bible studies, and classes that deepened her walk with Christ as a devoted Christian.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leigh Ann’s memory to Memphis Botanic Gardens
A Celebration of Life will be held for family and close friends on October 23, 2025, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Memphis Botanic Garden in the Sensory Garden.
