Lee Heung Sit's Obituary
Lee Heung Sit, born on June 7, 1923, in Guangzhou, China, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, at the age of 101. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shu Sum Sit.
Lee Heung is survived by her three daughters and their husbands: Frances and Paul Jarzabek of Shreveport, LA; Joann and Robert Fung of Memphis, TN; and Virginia and Brian Ng of Houston, TX. She is also survived by her two sons: Jim and Emily Sit of Amherst, MA, and her granddaughter, Kayla Sit; Mike Sit of Robinsonville, MS.
Lee was a woman of quiet strength with great patience, and she had a determined, never-give-up attitude. With much sacrifice, she devoted herself to the care and well-being of her family. Her strong personal faith in God sustained her through many difficult circumstances. Through prayer and unwavering trust in her Lord, she overcame many challenges that came her way. As Psalm 90:17 says, “The favor of the Lord rests on her; establish the work of her hands.” The Lord has truly blessed all her works.
Lee Heung worked for many years at a grocery store, where she loved interacting with her customers and was known for her kind-hearted nature. She took immense joy in her work, always with a smile on her face.
A passionate foodie who loved to eat (and could she ever eat!), Lee definitely passed on her love of food to all her children and her grandchild. One of her favorites was Siu Yook Fan. She also loved the game of Mahjong and often played into the early morning hours, a tradition that became cherished within the family. Like many in her generation, Lee also enjoyed watching traditional Chinese opera.
She was generous and kind to everyone who knew her and never forgot the acts of kindness shown to her throughout her life. She will be dearly missed.
The family invites friends to gather Wednesday March 19, 2025 for visitation at 12:00pm with a service following at 1:00pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery 5668 Poplar Ave Memphis, TN 38119
