Le Etta Jane Terry Gabbard's Obituary
Jane Terry Gabbard , 74, passed away November 22, 2016. She was born December 23, 1941 to Clifford and Guila Terry in Jackson, TN. She was a 1959 graduate of Treadwell High School. She worked at Armour and Company for over 25 years and for the Steamfitters Local 614 for 10 years. She attended Memphis State University and studied real estate. After obtaining her real estate license she worked for Century 21, Remax, and Groome and Company for a combined total of 31 years until her retirement. Jane was an avid University of Memphis football and basketball fan, but her biggest joy in her life was spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Buford Gabbard; parents, Clifford Terry and Guila Turner; step-father, Parke Turner; brother, Dwight Kirk; and sister, Mary Land. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michael and Carolyn Joyner; step-daughter, Doresa Young; four grandchildren, Christopher Joyner, Daniel Joyner, Brandon Joyner, and Holly Joyner; sister, Hazel Williams; four nieces; two nephews; and a host of other beloved family and friends. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. and funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 27 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
