Lawrence Victor O'Shaughnessy's Obituary
Lawrence Victor O’Shaughnessy, 90, traveled peacefully into the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ, Christmas Day, 2011. He was a devoted husband, beloved father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He retired from National Distillers Products Company in 1979. In retirement he devoted his time in service to his community for nearly 30 years, through the Kiwanis Club of Memphis and the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association (MIFA). He was a World War II veteran who served in the United States Navy aboard a destroyer in the Pacific theater. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; his brother, the Reverend Donald J. O’Shaughnessy, S.J.; his children, Michael L. O’Shaughnessy (Mary Ann Dillavou) of Chicago, Daniel J. O’Shaughnessy (Dora) of Charlotte, Maureen O. Rowan (Bob), of Knoxville, Margaret A. O’Shaughnessy, Memphis, and Carolyn O. Waters, Atlanta; his grandchildren, Paul O’Shaughnessy, Devon O. Birch, Chase Rowan, Ben Waters and Tory Waters; and great-grandson Patrick O’Shaughnessy. Visitation on Tuesday, December 27, from 2-3 p.m. and funeral service commencing at 3 p.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church, 203 S. White Station Road, with private interment to follow.
