Lawrence Edward Davis' Obituary
Lawrence Edward Davis Jr., passed away on June 6, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born April 23, 1935 in Florence, AL to Lawrence Sr. and Geneva Davis. He is survived by Willene Johnson Davis married 63 years: one son, Lawrence Edward “Trey” Davis III (Sheila) of Cordova, TN, two daughters, Amanda Burk (Tim), Sabrina Ward (Mark) both of Bartlett, TN, and eight grandchildren: Tracie Davis, Katelynn Englert (Caleb), Lawrence Edward Davis IV (Catherine) , Coley Thomas (Jeremy), Marcus Burk (Elizabeth), Rachel, Taylor and Brooklynn Ward. Four great-grandchildren, Lawrence Edward Davis V, Brooks Davis, Riley Jo and Rhett Thomas. He was also survived by one sister, Theresa Davis (Wayne). He retired from General Motors Corporation. He graduated from Deshler High School, Tuscumbia, AL in 1954. He graduated from Larimore Business College and attended Memphis State for two years. He was of Baptist faith. Edward was an avid Alabama football fan. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed keeping up and visiting with his high school friends via e-mail. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 9 from 9:00-10:00a.m. with the service to follow immediately at 10:00 a.m. the Entombment to follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum. All services will be held at Memorial Park. The family requests memorials be sent to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
