LaVerne Gross' Obituary
LaVerne W Gross died January 18, 2011 at the age of 95. LaVerne graduated at age 20 with a BS degree from the University of Minnesota, married and raised a family. In 1974, she and her husband retired to Roswell, NM, where they enjoyed friends, outdoor activities, and their church. In 1995, after the passing of her husband of 58 years, she developed a passion for community and church volunteering. LaVerne moved to Cordova in 2005, soon joined at the Cordova Presbyterian Church where she continued her volunteer work. Preceded in death by her parents: Gust and Marie Nobbelin, her husband: Albert, and her siblings: Ernest, Violet, and Eleanore. Survived by her daughter: Judith Sherrard of Maryland, her son: James (Jane) Gross of Tennessee, her grandchildren Bradley (Lisa) of Maryland, Brian Sherrard of Oregon, Julie (Alvaro) Fernandez and Jerold (Amanda) Gross of Texas, and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial Service at Cordova Presbyterian Church, 8707 Fay Road, Cordova, TN on Saturday January 22, 2011 at 11:30 AM. Visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cordova Presbyterian Church Endowment.
