Lavelle Walker was my tenant at Clark Tower. He always brightened my day whenever I saw him. It broke my heart when I called his lovely wife of 42 years to check on him and heard the devastating news that he had passed. He would always give me a hug, a kiss on my cheek and would tell me each time “you be a good girl”. He always would give me advice in a way that my own father would. I loved his stories and he had plenty to share, including stories about his wife that you could tell he had a deep love for. I know he was a highly respected man and will be missed by so many. I will miss seeing his smiling face each day. Today I walked into to Foozis where he ate often and sat in the same table most days. There was an empty seat and it brought tears to my eyes.
