Laura Mary Williams' Obituary
Mrs. Laura Mary Williams was born in Sardis, Mississippi, on January 19, 1933, to Annie B. Thompson and Willie Mitchell. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of New Nonconnah Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorship of Rev. R. L. Jones. God welcomed her home into His loving arms on September 3, 2025.
Laura was married to the late Norvell Turner and the late Earl Williams. She was a loving mother to one daughter and five sons.
An active faith, a spirit of adventure, and a love for everyone characterized Laura’s 92 years of living. Her passion and life’s calling were most evident in how she showed love and brought joy to others by cooking delicious food. Her beautiful smile and magnetic personality instantly turned strangers into friends.
Laura was reunited in heaven with her parents, Annie Thompson and Willie Mitchell; grandparents, Laura and Charlie Thompson; sons, Dwayne Williams and David Turner; and brother, Earl Lowe, Sr.
Her memorable life will be celebrated by four children: Clyde Turner, Kenneth Williams (Deloris), Gwendolyn Fink (Stephen), and Frederick Williams; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive family and friends for a gathering on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 11:00am. Graveside Service will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
