Laura Dyer Carothers' Obituary
Laura Dyer Carothers, 63, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on August 8, 2025. Born on June 19, 1962, to the late Andrew Carothers and Ann McLemore in Jackson, Mississippi. Laura grew up with a warm spirit, a quick smile, and a gift for building lifelong friendships.
Laura graduated from Pillow Academy's class of 1982 in Greenwood, Mississippi, and afterwards attended the University of Mississippi, where she earned her bachelor's degree in business in 1984. She built a successful career in banking, dedicating 20 years, where her professionalism and compassion touched both clients and coworkers. Later in life, she brought that same care and dedication to her work at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, offering comfort to families during their most difficult times.
Laura's life was filled with close friends, cherished memories, and countless shared laughs. She had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel valued, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, loyalty, and joy.
Laura is preceded in death by her parents Andrew Carothers and Ann McLemore and she is survived by close childhood and Memphis friends. She will be remembered and missed deeply by all who had the privilege to know her.
A private service for Laura will be held at a later date.
