LaToya Peterson Nickelberry's Obituary
Latoya P. Nickelberry was born on January 31, 1983 in Fayetteville, NC. Latoya was the daughter of Mr. James Peterson Jr. and Mattie Peterson.Latoya professed her faith in Christ at an early age at Greater Missionary Baptist Mission, in Clarksville, TN. Latoya remained committed to her dedication to Christ by her day to day interaction with those she loved. There was nothing Latoya would not do to show her loyalty and devotion to her family and all those around her.Latoya was united in holy matrimony to Mark Nickelberry on February 21, 2016.Latoya is a graduate of the University of Tennessee where she earned a Masters Degree in Social Work. She worked as a Licensed Social Worker at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Latoya was a loved and respected member of the Baptist Memorial community. She organized and led The Elevate Our Daughters Arts Project. This program promoted self-esteem and discipline to youth across the city of Memphis. She also was a member of the Epsilon Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.In addition to her mother, father and husband, Latoya leaves her brother Aaron Peterson, her sister in law Princess Peterson and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, in-laws and friends.Latoya P. Nickelberry touched the lives of many people near and far. She will be remembered for her soft voice, beautiful smile, and her genuine love for helping people.Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, July 7 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, July 8 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
