LaRue Maxine Stallings' Obituary
“LaRue “Maxine” Stallings, beloved mother, passed away on January 14, 2014 after a twenty-one year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Maxine was predeceased by her husband Robert R. Stallings, son Danny R. Stallings and grandson, Leslie R Stallings. She is survived by her children, Robert D. Stallings, Dotty S. Kinney, And Dina S. Foshee, eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Maxine grew up in Atlanta and made Memphis her permanent home in 1965 when her husband, Bob transferred with Dobbs Houses Incorporated. She enjoyed traveling abroad and visited many countries. She attended the University of Memphis and spent many happy times playing golf and bridge with her friends at Colonial Country Club. She was a member of the Poplar Estates Garden Club, enjoyed ballroom dancing, cooking, and playing the piano by ear.Funeral services will take place at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue on Saturday, January 18th at 2:30 pm. Visitation will be held Friday afternoon from 5:00-7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.”
