Larry David Martin's Obituary
Larry David Martin – October 22, 1953 to March 9, 2023
Larry suffered a heart attack and died, unexpectedly, at his home on March 9, 2023. He was born on October 22, 1953, in Huntington, West Virginia. His parents were Charlie and Daisy Ballengee Martin. Larry had five siblings, Charlotte “Sue” Belt, Danny, Mary Ann, Mike (Brenda) and Vicky (Doug) Petrey. Larry had two daughters, Angie Martin Lang and Allison Gardner. He had three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Larry enlisted in the US Army in the early 70’s and spent 4 years in Germany. When Larry got out of the Army he went to work in construction. Larry and his wife Denise started their own construction company, L.D. Martin Construction, in the early 90’s and have been very successful due to their hard work. Larry and his wife, Denise Mahoney Martin, were married on August 2, 1990. Larry and Denise have lived in Olive Branch, Mississippi for almost all of their happily married life. Larry loved their dogs and they worshiped Larry. Most recently ‘Lady’ was his special family member. Before ‘Lady’ was ‘Chevy’ and ‘Shawnee’ and before that was ‘Martin’. Larry loved his wife, his dogs and riding his motorcycle. Larry also loved his work and devoted himself to hard work and doing everything he could to do good, quality work and please his clients. Anyone who knew Larry would agree that he was one of the hardest workers they have ever seen. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Daisy, his step-son, Stephen Brown, his sister Charlotte “Sue” Belt and his brother Danny Martin. In lieu of flowers, please send any memorials to the American Humane Society of Memphis, 935 Farm Road, Memphis, TN. 38134 The service for Larry will be at Memorial Park Cemetery on Poplar Avenue
